MOONDUST
Experimental Rocketry
MOONDUST was our third rocket. Launched near Bremen in August 2025, it reached the target apogee of 1200 m. Although the Recovery system experienced an early main chute deployment, the rocket safely touched down in a nearby field and was recovered with only minor damage. The mission was a success and all other systems worked as intended, providing valuable data for the development of our next rocket, STARGAZE, at EuRoC 2025.
The goal of MOONDUST was to onboard new members by having them build a complete rocket from the ground up based on the existing STARDUST design. It included several redesigns, especially of the Recovery system, to verify their functionality for the use in STARGAZE.
